Navel - The Navel piercing is most commonly done with a 14 or 12 gauge curved barbell, although occasionally a J-curve or ring may be used. While like the earlobe, it’s a popular spot for body adornment, navel piercings can be much more challenging to heal. Unlike earlobes, the area around the navel lacks blood supply (it's avascular), leading to slower healing. The piercing site is also exposed to friction from clothing and tissue stress from body movements, both of which can hinder the healing process. Patience and careful aftercare are essential for a successful healing period. Navel piercings first gained popularity with teenage girls, but people of all ages and gender identities now enjoy them.
